Doctor Who panel at Nerd HQ

Many of us hoped to see the Doctor and the TARDIS on the Olympics opening ceremony this last friday night, but we were very disappointed. Doctor Who, that soon will make 50 years since it first broadcasted in 1963, is a British symbol. But the only thing they made to honor this great series was to include the TARDIS sound during Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, song that Matt Smith (the 11th Doctor), Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams) and Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) performed at Nerd HQ's Doctor Who panel during this year's San Diego ComicCon. It could be heard only for a few seconds and no TARDIS appeared, so many whovians, like myself, thought it was their imagination. Other didn't even hear it. They were supposed to play the Doctor Who theme while a video featuring the 11 Doctors, but they didn't do it because of lack of time. We hope they will include it on the closing ceremony.

Despite de Doctor's ausence, the ceremony was really awesome and wonderful. Great British personalities took part, like actor and director Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart on Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets, director of Thor); writer J.K. Rowling; and actor Rowan Atkinson, known for Mr. Bean, and who once played the Doctor on the 1999 special "Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death" written by Steven Moffat, which you can see online.

Congratulations to everyone that took part on the ceremony, except for the ones that decided there was no time for the Doctor.
