 Ian Somerhalder es un actor norteamericano famoso por su papel de Boone en Perdidos y Damon en Crónicas Vampíricas, cuya cuarta temporada empieza el 11 de Octubre en Estados Unidos. Además de ser gran actor, es una maravillosa persona. Le encantan los animales y para poder ayudar a la naturaleza, creó la Ian Somerhalder Foundation (Fundación Ian Somerhalder).

 Su misión es, tal como dice en su página web, "capacitar, educar y colaborar con personas y proyectos para impactar positivamente en el planeta y sus criaturas". Para llevar esta misión a cabo, la IS Foundation planea abrir un santuario para animales, en el cual animales maltratados e incomprendidos no sólo serán rehabilitados, sino que ayudarán a jóvenes problemáticos a convertirse en mejores personas cuidando de estos animales.

 Chase Community Giving va a donar 5 millones de dólares a las caridades más votadas.
