 Dexter es un drama basado en el libro "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" ("Dexter: El oscuro pasajero" en España), escrito por Jeff Lindsay. El guionista James Manos, Jr. hizo la adaptación para televisión.

 Dexter Morgan parece un tipo normal y corriente. Trabaja como analista forense en la policía de Miami, tiene una guapa novia y le gusta salir en su barco para pasar el tiempo. Pero en realidad, esconde un oscuro secreto. Es un asesino en serie, y sus víctimas, son otros asesinos en serie.

 Incapaz de sentir nada por nadie, se esconde bajo la fachada de un compañero simpático, un buen hermano y un novio comprensivo. Pero por la noche busca a los que han escapado de la justicia para encargarse de ellos a su manera. Esto se debe a su padre adoptivo, un policía que, al darse cuenta de la oscuridad en Dexter, decidió buscarle un propósito. Siguiendo el código de Harry, Dexter se encargará de los asesinos en serie de Miami y descubrirá que no está tan vacío por dentro como su padre pensaba.

 Michael C. Hall es Dexter; Jennifer Carpenter es Debra, su hermana adoptiva que intenta convertirse en detective de homicidios; Julie Benz es Rita, su preciosa novia a la que utiliza como tapadera de un chico normal; James Remar es Harry, su padre adoptivo, al que veremos en flashbacks; Lauren Velez es la teniente LaGuerta, más preocupada por la política que por las víctimas; David Zayas es Angel Batista, un simpático detective de homicidios; C.S. Lee es Masuka, un investigador forense pervertido; Erik King es el sargento Doakes, el único que desconfía de Dexter; Christina Robinson es Astor, la hija de Rita; y Preston Bailey (Daniel Goldman en la primera temporada) es el hijo de Rita, Cody, quien admira a Dexter y le encanta estar con él.

 Esta serie está llena emoción, intriga, humor al estilo Dexter y emotividad. Los guiones y la dirección son excelentes; la música original de la serie es perfecta; y los actores hacen un magnífico trabajo, sobre todo Michael C. Hall, que a pesar de haberse enfrentado a un cáncer linfático siguió asombrándonos con su actuación.

 En cuanto a adaptación, la primera temporada está basada en el primer libro de Dexter, pero en la segunda temporada empieza a tomar un rumbo distinto al de los libros.

 Dexter empezó a emitirse en 2006 en el canal Showtime de Estados Unidos, y recientemente terminó de emitir su sexta temporada. Pero no os preocupéis, porque ya ha sido renovada para dos temporadas más.

 Dexter Morgan seems an ordinary guy. He works as a blood spatter analyst on the Miami Metro Police Department, he has a pretty girlfriend and he enjoys hanging out on his boat. But actually, he hides a dark secret. He's a serial killer, and his victims are other serial killers.

 Unable to have feelings for anyone, he hides under the disguise of a nice colleague, a good brother and an understanding boyfriend. But at night he looks for those who have escaped justice to take care of them on his way. This is because of his adoptive father, a cop that, realizing the darkness inside Dexter, decided to find a purpose to it. Following Harry's code, Dexter will take care of Miami's serial killers and he will find out he's not as empty inside as his father thought.

 Michael C. Hall is Dexter; Jennifer Carpenter is Debra, his adoptive sister who's trying to become a homicide detective; Julie Benz is Rita, his beautiful girlfriend, whom he uses as a cover of a normal guy; James Remar is Harry, his adoptive father, who will be seen on flashbacks; Lauren Velez is Lieutenant LaGuerta, who's more worried about politics than victims; David Zayas is Angel Batista, a nice homicide detective; C.S. Lee is Masuka, a pervert forensics investigator; Erik King is Sergeant Doakes, the only one who suspects of Dexter; Christina Robinson is Astor, Rita's daughter; and Preston Bailey (Daniel Goldman on the first season) is Rita's son Cody, who admires Dexter and loves being with him.

 This show is full of thrill, intrigue, Dexter-style humor and emotion. The scripts and direction are excellent; the show's original music is perfect; and the actors do an amazing work, specially Michael C. Hall, who despite of having faced a lymphatic cancer he kept amazing us with his acting.

 As to the adaptation, the first season is based on the first book of Dexter, but on the second season it begins to take a course different from the books.

 Dexter began broadcasting in 2006 on Showtime, and it recently finished airing its sixth season. But don't worry, because it has already been renewed for two more seasons.

 Terminator: Las Crónicas de Sarah Connor o TSCC es una serie de ciencia ficción del año 2008 creada por Josh Friedman. Es un spin-off de las películas de Terminator. La serie tiene lugar varios años depués de los eventos de Terminator 2: El Juicio Final.

 Para los que no conozcan la historia, Sarah Connor es la madre de John Connor, quien en el futuro liderará la guerra contra las máquinas cuando un sistema de inteligencia artificial llamado Skynet se rebela contra sus creadores. En la primera película Skynet envía a un Terminator al pasado para que elimine a Sarah Connor, pero John envía a Kyle Reese para protegerla. Kyle se enamora de Sarah y acaba siendo el padre de John, pero muere. En la segunda película John envía a un Terminator reprogramado que protegerá a Sarah y un John Connor de diez años. Juntos consiguen evitar la creación de Skynet y el Día del Juicio Final (día en que Skynet causa un holocausto nuclear).

 En el episodio piloto de la serie, un Terminator intenta matar a un John Connor de 15 años en el año 1999. Cameron, una Terminator reprogramada y enviada desde el futuro para protegerle, le salva la vida y les explica a él y a Sarah que no consiguieron evitar el Día del Juicio Final, sólo lo retrasaron. John, Cameron y Sarah viajan al año 2007, año en que Skynet será creado, para buscar y detener a su creador, con la constante amenaza del FBI y del Terminator llamado Cromartie. Más adelante se les unirá Derek Reese, hermano de Kyle Reese y tío de John.

 La serie consta de dos temporadas. Desgraciadamente fue cancelada, dejándola con un final abierto, pero no te decepcionará. Los guiones son muy buenos, las tramas interesantes y la música preciosa. Los actores son increíbles: Lena Headey (300, Juego de Tronos) es Sarah Connor; Thomas Dekker (Heroes, Pesadilla en Elm Street: el Origen, El Círculo Secreto) es John Connnor; Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity) es Cameron; Brian Austin Green es Derek; Richard T. Jones es el agente del FBI James Ellison; Garret Dillahunt es Cromartie; y Shirley Manson es una Terminator disfrazada de Catherine Weaver.

 Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles or TSCC is a science-fiction show from 2008 created by Josh Friedman. It's a spin-off from the Terminator films. The show takes place after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

 For those who do not know the story, Sarah Connor is the mother of John Connor, who in the future will lead the war against machines when an artificially intelligent system called Skynet revolts against its creators. On the first movie Skynet sends a Terminator to the past to eliminate Sarah Connor, but John sends Kyle Reese to protect her. Kyle falls in love with Sarah and ends up being John's father, but dies. On the second film John sends a reprogrammed Terminator that will protect Sarah and 10-year-old John Connor. Together they prevent the creation of Skynet and Judgment Day (day in which Skynet causes a nuclear holocaust).

 On the pilot episode of the show, a Terminator tries to kill 15-year-old John Connor on 1999. Cameron, a reprogrammed Terminator sent from the future to protect him, saves his life and explains to Sarah and him that they didn't prevent Judgment Day, just delayed it. John, Cameron and Sarah travel to the year 2007, year in which Skynet will be created, to look for and stop its creator, with the constant threat of the FBI and a Terminator called Cromartie. Later Derek Reese, Kyle Reese's brother and John's uncle, joins them.

 The show consists of two seasons. Sadly it was cancelled, leaving it with an open finale, but it will not disappoint you. The scripts are really good, the plots are interesting and the music is beautiful. The actors are awesome: Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones) is Sarah Connor; Thomas Dekker (Heroes, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Secret Circle) is John Connor; Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity) is Cameron; Brian Austin Green is Derek; Richard T. Jones is FBI agent James Ellison; Garret Dillahunt is Cromartie; and Shirley Manson is a Terminator disguised as Catherine Weaver.

 Como dije en mi último artículo, voy a hablaros sobre la secuela de Hotel Dusk, Last Window: El secreto de Cape West. Este videojuego para la Nintendo DS es, como su predecesor, una aventura gráfica y una novela de misterio interactiva. Fue lanzado en Japón en 2010 bajo el nombre de Last Window: Midnight Promise.

 El protagonista vuelva a ser Kyle Hyde, quien un año después de los acontecimientos en el Hotel Dusk, es despedido el mismo día que se entera de que la señora Patrice, dueña del Cape West, ha decidido vender el edificio y tendrá que buscar un nuevo apartamento. Por si no fuera poco, también recibe una misteriosa nota pidiéndole que encuentre la "Estrella Roja" que desapareció en el Cape West hace 25 años, cuando aún era un hotel.

 Investigando por todo el edificio e interactuando con sus vecinos, a los que apenas conoce, descubrirá el misterio escondido en el Cape West y la verdad detrás de la muerte de su padre. Para ésto, volverá a contar con la ayuda de la adorable Rachel.

 Este juego lleno de misterio te enganchará como lo hizo Hotel Dusk, con sus magníficos guiones, sus definidos personajes, sus intrigantes tramas y unos gráficos increíbles. Cabe a destacar la banda sonora, que además de contar con las canciones del juego anterior, también incluye otras nuevas que te llegarán al corazón nada más oírlas. Como novedad, el juego tiene un modo novela, en el que podrás leer los capítulos que hayas jugado como si fueran una novela.

 Like I said on my last article, I'm gonna talk about Hotel Dusk's sequel, Last Window: The Secret of Cape West. This videogame for Nintendo DS is, like its predecessor, a graphic adventure and an interactive mystery novel. It was released on Japan in 2010 under the name of Last Window: Midnight Promise.

 The main character is once again Kyle Hyde, who one year after the events on the Hotel Dusk, is fired the same day he finds out that Mrs. Patrice, Cape West's landlady, has decided to sell the building and he will have to find a new apartment. If this wasn't enough, he also receives a mysterious note asking him to find the "Scarlet Star" that disappeared  in the Cape West 25 years ago, when it was still a hotel.

 Investigating throughout the building and interacting with his neighbours, whom he barely knows, he will find out the mystery hiding in the Cape West and the truth behind his father's death. For this, he will once again have the help of the lovely Rachel.

 This game full of mystery will hook you like Hotel Dusk did, with its wonderful scripts, its defined characters, its intriguing plots and awesome graphics.  It's worth to highlight the soundtrack, which in addition to the previous game's songs, it also includes other new songs that will touch your heart. The game has a new feature in which you can read all the chapters you've already played like if it was a novel.

 Death Note es una serie de anime y manga escrita por Tsugumi Oba y dibujada por Takeshi Obata.

 "La persona cuyo nombre quede escrito en este cuaderno morirá". Cuando Light Yagami, un estudiante de 17 años, lee ésto en el cuaderno que encuentra, piensa que es una broma. Pero pronto se da cuenta de que lo que tiene en sus manos es un Cuaderno de muerte (Death Note) de un auténtico shinigami (dios de la muerte). Ryuk, el shinigami ligado a este cuaderno, se aparece ante Light y le explica que dejó caer el cuaderno al mundo de los humanos porque estaba aburrido. Light decide usarlo para eliminar a todos los criminales y convertirse en el Dios de un nuevo mundo.

 Pero no lo tendrá fácil, pues la policía y un misterioso detective llamado L colaborarán para desenmascararle. Así, una intensa batalla empezará entre L y Light, en la que el uno tendrá que prever las acciones del otro y actuar en consecuencia.

 A lo largo de 37 episodios de anime y 12 volúmenes de manga (13 contando el último volumen, que contiene fichas de personajes, entrevistas, tiras cómicas y más) Death Note te enganchará con su emocionante e intrigante trama, sus excelentes guiones e ilustraciones y una música sublime.

 También hay tres películas japonesas live action tituladas "Death Note", "Death Note: El último nombre" y "L: Change the world". Están protagonizadas por Tatsuya Fujiwara como Light y Kenichi Matsuyama como L. Las dos primeras son adaptaciones del manga y se pueden encontrar en español, mientras que la tercera sólo se puede encontrar en japonés con subtítulos y no tiene nada que ver con la historia original.

 Throughout 37 episodes of the anime and 12 volumes of manga (13 counting the last volume, which contains files of characters, interviews, comic strips and more) Death Note will hook you with its thrilling and intriguing plot, its excellent scripts and illustrations, and awesome music.

 There are also three japanese live action movies entitled "Death Note", "Death Note: The last name" and "L: Change the world". The main actors are Tatsuya Fujiwara as Light and Kenichi Matsuyama as L. The first two are manga adaptations, but the third one has nothing to do with the original story.

 Heroes es una serie de la NBC creada por Tim Kring en 2006. La trama de esta serie se desenvuelve alrededor de varias personas, al parecer no relacionadas entre sí, que descubren que tienen habilidades extraordinarias.

 Claire Bennet es una animadora de Texas con la habilidad de regenerarse. El artista Isaac Mendez dibuja catástrofes antes de que sucedan. Hiro Nakamura es un oficinista japonés que descubre que puede controlar el tiempo y el espacio. Matt Parkman es un policía que puede escuchar los pensamientos de los demás. Y Peter Petrelli es un enfermero de Nueva York que sueña que puede volar. Mohinder Suresh, un profesor de genética de la India, viajará a Estados Unidos para descubrir la verdad tras la muerte de su padre, quien estaba investigando estos poderes.

 Estos y otros personajes intentarán salvar el mundo con estas habilidades a lo largo de una primera temporada llena de emoción e intriga. Desgraciadamente, a partir de la segunda temporada la serie pierde poco a poco su gran calidad, llegando a tener en las últimas temporadas tramas totalmente inútiles y grandes inconsistencias con los hechos de la primera temporada. Por eso, si no quieres acabar decepcionado, considérala una serie de una sola temporada.

 Los guiones de la primera temporada son excepcionales, al igual que los actores. La música es genuina. El desarrollo de la trama y los personajes está muy logrado. Y los fans de los cómics y la ciencia ficción disfrutarán de muchas referencias a estos géneros.

 El cast se compone por Milo Ventimiglia (Peter), Adrian Pasdar (el hermano de Peter, Nathan), Hayden Panettiere (Claire), Masi Oka (Hiro), James Kyson Lee (Ando, amigo de Hiro), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder), Jack Coleman (Mr. Bennet, el padre de Claire), Greg Grunberg (Matt), Santiago Cabrera (Isaac), Ali Larter (Niki Sanders, una madre soltera de Las Vegas), Noah Gray-Cabey (su hijo Micah, un niño prodigio), Leonard Roberts (su padre D.L.), y Zachary Quinto (Sylar, un asesino en serie con poderes). También cuenta con estrellas invitadas como Thomas Dekker, Christopher Eccleston, George Takei, Cristine Rose y Jayma Mays.

 Puedes ver la serie en Mtv, pero os recomiendo que la veáis en inglés con subtítulos, pues la traducción deja que desear y las voces originales son increíbles.

 Heroes is an NBC show created by Tim Kring on 2006. The plot revolves around several people, seemingly unrelated, that find out they have extraordinary abilities.

 Claire Bennet is a cheerleader from Texas with the ability of regeneration. Artist Isaac Mendez draws disasters before they happen. Hiro Nakamura is a Japanese office worker that can control time and space. Matt Parkman is a cop who can read minds. And Peter Petrelli is a nurse from New York who dreams he can fly. Mohinder Suresh, an Indian genetics professor, will travel to the USA to find out the truth behind his father's death, who was investigating these powers.

 These and other characters will try to save the world with these abilities throughout a first season full of thrill and intrigue. Sadly, from second season on, the show loses little by little its great quality, having the last seasons totally useless plots and major inconsistencies with the facts from the first season. That's why, if you don't want to end disappointed, consider it a single season show.

 The first season's scripts are outstanding, as well as the actors. The music is genuine. The development of the plot and characters is highly accomplished. Fans of comics and sci-fi will enjoy lots of references to these genres.
